The Dribbling Dons Basketball Program is offered to boys and girls in grades K through 5. It is designed to provide quality basketball instruction for the improvement of skills necessary for success at all levels. At the same time, we teach children that basketball is fun!
Our Athletic Director, Joe Konieczny, also serves as Head Coach for our Columbus Catholic High School Boys’ Varsity team. The Dons have reached the W.I.A.A. sectional tournaments in three of the past four seasons under Coach K’s direction. Coach K emphasizes a style of play based on strong perimeter skills. These are the same skills introduced in the Dribbling Dons program.
Darin Green is in his 5th year as Head Coach of the Dons Girls’ Varisty team. He has had winning seasons in each of his first four years. Coach Green strongly believes in the implementation of fundamental skills at an early age, as is found in the Dribbling Dons sessions.
Throughout the Dribbling Dons sessions our coaches are assisted by the rest of our CCHS coaching staff as well as many current and former Columbus Dons basketball players. This positive interaction between older and younger students keeps our program strong as we connect past and present Dons to the players of the future.
